Back in September, the BBC reported an incident where Supermarket staff had refused to sell alcohol to a white-haired 72-year-old man – because he would not confirm he was over 21.
The check-out staff refused to let the man buy two bottles of wine from a Morrisons store.
When the pensioner asked to see the manager, the manager put the wine back on the shelf!
A spokesman for the supermarket commented that staff had been asked to ask all customers buying alcohol that they were over 21.
The spokesman failed to apologise to the aggrieved customer, nor did he suggest that a change in policy would be forthcoming.
